Import tasks from a CSV

Bring tasks into a project from a spreadsheet — including a Todoist export.

You can fill a project from a spreadsheet. Open an empty project, use Get inspired → Import tasks from a CSV, and drop in a UTF-8 CSV file.

Coming from Todoist?

Ally reads a Todoist CSV export directly. Export a project in Todoist (Project menu → Export as a template → Export as CSV), then import that file here. Ally preserves:

  • Sections — section rows become sections
  • Sub-tasks — the INDENT column (2 = sub-task) rebuilds the hierarchy
  • Priority — Todoist's 1–4 (1 = urgent … 4 = low)
  • Descriptions and note rows (folded into the task)

Any other spreadsheet

For a plain spreadsheet, Ally just needs a title column (also accepts content, task, or name). If there's no recognizable header, the first column is used as the task title. Optional columns:

  • description (or notes)
  • priority — low / medium / high / urgent, or p1–p4
  • date — a due date in YYYY-MM-DD format

Tips

  • Make sure the file is saved as UTF-8 so accents and emoji come through.
  • Big imports are fine — up to ~500 tasks per section.
  • Everything imports as regular tasks you can edit, move, or delete.
