Organizing work

Use folders to organize team projects

Group related projects into folders that mirror how your team works.

Folders are the top level of structure in a workspace. They group related projects so your team's work stays easy to find.

Where folders fit

Every workspace follows the same shape:

Folders → Projects → Sections → Tasks → Sub-tasks

How to think about folders

Folders should reflect how you organize and talk about your work. A few common patterns:

  • Multiple teams or departments — one folder per team
    • e.g. Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales
  • Client-based work — one folder per client
    • e.g. Company A, Company B, Company C
  • Goal-driven work — one folder per goal
    • e.g. Make $10k in Q2, Double sign-ups, Improve NPS

A couple more ideas:

  • A 1:1s folder to manage manager–report meetings
  • An Onboarding folder that houses projects and tasks for new hires

Remember: projects can be private, so sensitive folders (like 1:1s) stay visible only to the people you add.

Create a folder

Hover the workspace in the sidebar and use its + menu to add a folder, then drag projects into it.
