Assign tasks to teammates

Give a task an owner so everyone knows who's doing what.

In a shared project, every task can have an assignee — the person responsible for getting it done.

Assign a task

Open a task and pick an Assignee (or set it inline as you type). The task then shows up in that person's Today/Upcoming views and they're notified.

Why it matters

  • No ambiguity about who owns what
  • Assignees see their work alongside their personal tasks
  • You can filter by assigned to me (or to a teammate) to see anyone's plate — see Introduction to filters

You can only assign tasks in team projects — personal projects have a single owner (you).
